Does Michael Douglas Have HPV?

Actor, Michael Douglas, age 65 has been diagnosed with a tumor at the base of his tongue. The location of the tumor indicates that the actor is suffering from oropharyngeal cancer which he describes as stage IV. Smoking and alcohol abuse have long been noted as common causes of throat cancer, however, it has recently been discovered that HPV (human papillomavirus), the virus that causes cervical cancer, is responsible for many throat cancers. HPV is also linked to other types of cancers and genital warts. Scientists believe that the virus is spread through oral sex and causes localized head and neck cancers. There has been a recent increase in the incidence of head and neck cancer especially among the male population. While I am not aware of any definitive evidence that Douglas has HPV it is certainly a possibility. Douglas is undergoing both chemotherapy and radiation. According to many reports doctors expect Douglas to make a full recovery. Incidentally, if the virus is caused by HPV the tumor could be more susceptible to treatment. The actor has expressed optimism in several interviews.

If you have HPV virus already and it caused genital warts but you got rid of the warts already (using Wartscide)), is there a possibility that this virus would result in cervical cancer without me knowing? i’m sorry i ‘m just worried i might get cancer all of a sudden. thanks!
