The summer's not even over and yet you can get your seasonal flu shot today at your local Walgreen's. The store is offering the seasonal flu shot (a combination of swine flu (H1N1) , H3N2, and influenza B protection) to customers on a walk-in basis. The cost of the shot is reportedly $29.99 or you can get the FluMist (a nasal spray version of the vaccine) for $34.99. Medicare B and some other insurance companies will cover this cost. You'll have to check with your local store to see if the new Fluzone High Dose vaccine (made especially for seniors) is available. The seasonal flu shot can be taken by almost any healthy individual over the age of 6 months but is especially recommended for small children, the elderly and pregnant women.
