Shocking Statistics on Sinusitis

According to the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine rhino-sinusitis (ie. sinus inflammation, post-nasal drip, nasal congestion, cough, headache and facial pain) is one of the most common medical complaints in the U.S. Not too shocking, but read on... Sinusitis causes Americans an estimated 6 billion dollars a year and results in 13 million doctor visits!

Thirty-five million Americans suffering from sinusitis have chronic sinusitis, a disorder which is so disabling that this particular article has compared it to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and congestive heart failure. However, I do have some good news. During the period of April 16-19 experts from around the world will meet to discuss the causes of rhino-sinusitis and some interesting treatments including sublingual immunotherapy, and the natural remedy Manuka honey. I, for one, am very interested to find out what they have to say and hope that this convention will result in positive and innovative treatments for the millions of Americans suffering from sinusitis.
